Player contract

Is there a moment during training camp when you can cut a player and his salary won't cut on the salary cap ?

I mean I had 10+ injuries so I had to sign players, then cut them, then sign new players for news injuries, then cut. I don't wanna carry a too big deadcap so I'm trying to cut some big contracts from back up but is there a moment to do that or not at all ?

The only time you can cut a player without incurring any dead cap is right after you draft them (before training camp). In those cases, you will see an option to "void contract" on the player card.

Other than that, you will always incur some dead cap for this year (and maybe next) IF the player has any bonus money due to them.

Everyone is different but I don't care much for Probable injuries...Questionable injuries somewhat matter to me but it depends on how much depth I have and the position they play along with the injury...I might sit a Questionable player down a week and sometimes I let them play thru it....I don't play Doubtful and of course you can't play players who are OUT!! Just some friendly advice!

I always look at the number on the health bar and make my decision based on that. Generally I am very conservative with injuries though. I will sit someone who is probable a lot of times unless I absolutely need them.

Man I forgot about that health bar...I used to wait on players to get to 60% but now I don't even look at it...I've had some injured players play out of their mind and that changed the way I operate but like I said everyone is different....Sometimes with Questionable players I slide them down to 2nd or 3rd string too....

Thanks for the answer. Most of the time I don't play any player with a health bar under 50%... but last week I had like 10 questionable 5+ weeks with health bar under 50%. Had to make some moves so I'll be carrying some deadcap next season I suppose.

If you have to sign someone, just give them a one year deal. Then you won't have to worry about any dead cap from them next season.
